
The quickest and easiest way to update drivers is to use a specialist dedicated program like driver detective. To download this program go to www.drivershq.com and follow the instructions but if you need additional help click here. There is a one off fee for this product.
Otherwise go the manufactures website of the device click on support/download select the driver matching your device and download it to your My Documents folder. It is wise to create a new folder calling it drivers putting the downloads into there. Sub directories are helpful if you have multiple drivers to download.
The file will be zipped up (compressed) and when you select open or run it will automatically unpack the file into the same folder you created. However some unzip programs have a tendency to put the unpacked files in a temporary file in your root directory so in these case select your location manually.
You have now one of two ways to update your drivers a: locate setup.exe in the folder or install.exe and let the wizard do the work. Not all drivers can be updated this way and the alternative is to go into device manager, select the device in question, right click, update driver, chose your own location rather than auto select and point to the folder your drivers were saved in.
You will see the software loading progress bar moving across and you might be prompted for a restart once complete. You can OK to that or if you have several drivers to install cancel the restart until all are updated.
